Yandex Metrica: Attribution

Yandex Metrica: Attribution

The Attribution Model is the principle by which Metrics and other analytics systems count the number of visits and conversions for each traffic source.
For example, when you see in the report that there were 100 conversions and ten conversions from search engines, this data was calculated using one of the attribution models.
Previously, the default model was “Last transition”, which is useful for technical analysis of the site.
The “Last Significant Transition” model is now being applied to help you better understand how different sources of visitor attraction work.

Advantage

“Last significant transition” allows you to draw more useful conclusions for website promotion, rather than for technical analysis
Due to the change in the attribution model by default, traffic will be redistributed between sources: there will be fewer internal transitions and direct calls, more transitions from other sources.

What is affected by the change in the basic attribution model

Now it is possible to track changes in the traffic structure.

If you need to look at the statistics “the old way”, just switch the report to the “Last transition” model
