Instagram: Update

If you’re still sad about Instagram’s chronological feed, you may soon have something to celebrate: The social network has begun testing a new feature called Latest Posts.

Recall that in 2016, Instagram developed an algorithm that disrupted the chronological display of publications, and since then, the neural network selects the posts that it identifies as the most interesting, and shows them first.

Now things can go back to the old pattern, and the new feature will allow you to see the latest updates in the sequence in which they were published.

Inside leaked to the media thanks to Hong Kong-based developer and blogger Jane Manchun Wong.

What do we know?

The test function is a separate tool, not an option for translating the tape solely on the chronological principle.

It is assumed that the ability to customize how publications will be displayed by default will appear later.

The new option will most likely appear as a pop-up on top of the news feed. When you click on the window, you will be taken to a section that will show in chronological order the latest content from the users you follow.
