The other day, an algorithm was launched to measure the quality and uniqueness of groups’ content, and now, depending on the score, OK ranks them in the recommendations section and in the news feed.

Why is that necessary?

The update will improve the quality of content in user news feeds.
For example, you won’t see duplicates of the same post in your feed.
What are the benefits for content creators?

Authors of unique and interesting content will get more opportunities to reach a mass audience of the social network, media will be able to interact more often with their readers and viewers, and entrepreneurs and brands will organically attract more customers.

Those groups that publish a high percentage of unique content.
Also, the algorithm takes into account engagement with content relative to its coverage in the newsfeed, the proportion of bots among the group’s subscribers (great).
The first tests showed that thanks to the new algorithm, the OK feed has become more diverse content and significantly reduced the number of groups that litter our tapes, the audience with repetitive pictures and posts, which are the sin of the public with quotes and humor.

Groups with low scores from the algorithm get less coverage in the news feed and may not fall into the group recommendation section, but the reach of small and new groups that are interested in creating unique content for users has increased!

Groups that as a result rank lower in the feed and are less likely to be included in recommendations will eventually be able to claim higher coverage again, just to do that, you have to work hard with content!
