Russian AliExpress
Russian AliExpress decided to make major changes to save its market share.
The company intends to give sellers the opportunity to trade without loading, storing, promoting and packaging their goods.
All these “black” work will be handled by a special unit of AliWay, “workers” will have to pay a fee of 25% of the price of the goods sold, money will be withheld only from completed orders.
Another new rule: on the marketplace, buyers can now make purchases at once from different suppliers.
How is this different from the fact that we used to be able to place orders in multiple stores? You could only place orders in different baskets and with different delivery conditions.
Now, AliExpress faces the task of significantly expanding the local part of the marketplace, so the company is especially interested in communicating with Russian sellers and is aimed at locally produced goods.
In the quarantine months alone, the number of local sellers on the site increased by 40 percent, a separate line of work being self-employed, in fact, direct support for small businesses and small brands that are interested in expanding online sales channels.
For non-professional sellers with no experience in marketplaces, working with AliExpress will be quite an expensive opportunity, for example, Wildberries charges sellers from 5%.
