Analytics: Time on the media

PQ Media’s Global Consumer Media Usage Forecast estimated how much the average American spent on all forms of media in 2020.

That time went up 2.9 percent to 73 hours a week, all of which is the impact of the pandemic.
The average global citizen now studies media 2.8 percent longer than before (up to 53 hours a week), while the share of time spent in advertising media in 2020 fell to 44.8 percent in the U.S. and 65.8 percent worldwide, a historic low.
Streaming media last year beat media holdings (particularly those dependent on ad media), and in 2020, streaming already attracted more than 55 percent of all media time spent by consumers in the U.S. and up to 35 percent globally.

In the Top were media associated with digital video, audio, games, social networks and chat services.
